Farah Khan About SRK

Farah Khan is looking forward to one thing in life right now — For the moment life is just Om Shanti Om for Farah. The idea generated from Bombay Dreams in London says Farah. "When I was choreographing for Bombay Dreams, I realised that for them the term Bollywood means cinema of the 70s.The first half is based in the 70s and the second half in 2007. The decade of the 70s was the period when interesting films were made. There were stars like Dharmendra, Amitabh Bachchan, Rajesh Khanna and Hema Malini on the top. It was a fun era," said Farah. Farah adds, "The styling for the film is unique, totally like the 70s in the first half. I’ve used cars which were used by Rajesh and Hema. Guru shirts, which were made popular by Rajesh, have also been used. I had to do a lot of referencing with hair dressers. I have used props from R.K. Studios, like the lights and cranes etc."

For the first time Farah has convinced her hero Shah Rukh to take off his shirt. "It wasn’t tough to make him do that but he said he would have to work on his body before doing it. He worked hard to get those six pack abs. I’ve shot so many songs on him earlier that I always wanted him to do an item number for me the way Ram Gopal Varma shoots item numbers on his heroines with waterfall in the background, and I did just that in Om Shanti Om. I am glad for Shah Rukh since it is a great change over for him at the age of 42," says the director.

On her association with Shah Rukh, Farah says, "After working with him, it is difficult for me to work with others."

About her forthcoming film Happy New Year, she says that she plans to complete the script after this film gets released. When asked about choreography Farah says, "I am tired of it. I am going to retire from choreography. Unless it’s an international project, I have no interest."
