I can act without taking off my shirt says Shahrukh

Not withstanding his six-pack abdomen which is in the limelight, Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan feels he is capable of acting without taking off his shirt. "In 'Om Shanti Om' I play a hero of today. I felt that everyone in the film world looks cool these days and we went for this look," Khan, who attended a event with tennis star Sania Mirza to promote an upcoming tennis tournament, said. He also said that he had received praise from fellow actors like Salman Khan and Hrithik Roshan for his new look.

But Salman had also told him he was looking too thin. The star said he had great respect for sportspersons and had taken up an exercise regimen after shooting for his recent hit "Chak De India", which centres round the game of hockey. Asked if he had any regrets about not doing the Oscar- nominated cricket-based movie "Lagaan", Khan said, "After watching the film, I thought only Aamir (Khan) could have done justice to it. However, I did manage to do 'Chak De'." Khan parried questions on whether there had been renewed interest in hockey following the success of "Chak De India".

"I want to make it clear it is not because of the film that we are doing well in sports. Instead it is because they (sportspersons) are doing well that such movies are made," he said. With more sports-based movies expected from Bollywood in the near future, this could become a new genre in the film industry, he remarked.

Charmie engaged in new employment

By the encouragement of sensational director Krishna Vamsi, Tollywood glamorous damsel Charmie entered into another field. Charmie acted under the direction of Krishna Vamsi as an actor in the films Sri Anjaneyam, Chkram, Rakhi and proved her talent as heroine with her excellent performance. Moreover she learned Telugu and became well acquainted in speaking beautifully.

In that sense Krishna Vamsi encouraged Charmie to give dubbing voice for heroine Kajal in his film Chandamama which was released recently. She not only speaking Telugu beautifully, but giving dubbing voice for another linguistic heroine is appreciable. In the film Rakhi also she spoke the dialogues in her own voice for her role. In this way she may become very busy not only in acting, but also as dubbing artiste in future.

Many of the artistes are thinking that only expressing lips movements in front of camera, their work is over. But other heroines also if they speak their dialogues in their own voice then it will be more beneficial to them. In this issue it is necessary to say about Krishna Vamsi, because, Sindhu Menon one of the heroine of his film Chandamama has been encouraged by him to say dubbing in her own voice. Her mother tongue is Malayalam, however, she learned Telugu within the period of completion of the shooting of the film Chandamama. In the recent period another heroine Mamatha Mohandas was also spoke the dialogues in her own voice in the film Yamadonga and proved her talent.

Kamal & Rajini in Maniratnam’s flick

About three decades before in the film VAYADINILE variety action hero kamal Hasan and super star Rajinikanth acted together as hero and villain respectively. That film was broken the records in Tamil Nadu. There is news that they both are once again acting together in the forth coming flick. It is also hoping that Maniratnam is going to direct the film. The film NAYAGAN made by Maniratnam with Kamal Hasan was sensational hit. Similarly the film DALAPATHI made in 1991 with Rajinikanth was also successful.

There are murmurings that recently these three persons met in the house of Kamal hasan and discussed about the coming film. However, Kamal Hasan is going to produce and Maniratnam is going to direct the said film. As these both are top heroes in Tamil Nadu director Maniratnam has to take carefulness giving equal importance. When press people met Kamal Hasan he said there is no truth in this issue. Nevertheless, somebody brought a project asking me, will you direct a film with Rajinikanth, then normally I told them I will not direct, but I will produce a film if require, but not more than this. Whatever other sort of news is coming out is nothing but bullshit. Moreover I am yet to produce two films he said. Though Kamal Hasan is rejecting the above news, the cine goers are strongly hoping that there will be a project with these three topers and lot of discussions among the people are also spreading entire Tamil Nadu on this subject.

DON shooting in RFC

We hope you are busy in making Dasavatharam?
Being an artiste, it is necessary to be little bit busy. Moreover there are lots of estimations on this film. Hence it has become to proceed very carefulness in this regard.

There are many different news is coming on this film?
You are asking me to tell about the film indirectly. When there is lot of time to release the film then how can I brief everything about that movie? However, I can say it will be a good film. I am not saying as an artiste, but as an ordinary audience I can say it will be a positive film in both Telugu and Tamil.

In the past you have played the role of police in many films. Did you find any difference between your past ones and Raghavan?
The role of Raghavan is happening real life’s of many police people. Every time why we have to expose negativeness of police? Are there no good stories about police people? In this concept we have made this film Raghavan. Further, in today’s nation maximum corruption is going on increasing. Why such anti social elements are increasing day by day is to be digested by the police and politicians. Those who think this is my village and nation then, nobody can involve in such murders and criminal activities etc. Not only that it is a crime to eat pan and split on the roads which is injustice. By this concept we want to highlight through this film.

Why there is lot of gap between your films?
Some time it happens like that. When I am doing in Dasavatharam, then there is no chance in acting another film. It is a difficult subject. Starting from makeup, on every issue we have to take special interest and care. Then we cannot travel on two boats at a time.

Your daughter Shruthi is going to perform as music director. Is it true?
Yes. At present Shruthi is doing an album. Today early morning she called me and said she wants to become as heroine and said I will prove what I am. Further, if there is any chance in your banner give me an opportunity she said. When she asked like this I felt like watching a thriller movie. Really she is very intelligent girl. Whatever she thinks she want to do everything in practical. Definitely she can prove her talent in any field. Whatever opportunities I am getting now, if the same opportunities she also gets then there is no doubt she can achieve anything.

There is news that under the direction of Mani Ratnam Rajinikanth is going to play as hero and you are producing the film?
At present there is no such thought. Somebody asked me casually, are you going to direct Rajinikanth’s film, then I told not direction, but as producer I can do. This was twisted in this manner and nothing else.

After the film Shuba Sankalpam you have maintained distance in Telugu?
Within a couple of months I am going direct the film on the banner of Rajkamal enterprises. It will be in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi at a time.


Is there any impact of Hollywood in our films?
Yes there is lot of Hollywood impact in movies. There are many personalities in our films who can create wonders by penning own stories. Though we are not fools, we depend on others and make films feeling it easy.

Are you feeling youngsters as your competitive heroes?
Definitely, because the inspirators and famous directors with whom I got the opportunity to work, these youngsters have lost to work with them. In this issue I feel little bit happy. However, if same opportunity these people gets then they will make many wonders in this field.

Are there any instances you felt agony when your films got flopped?
When a child dies, the heart of that mother only knows the real pain. However, she will not ignore other children. If somebody gives wrong phone number to us, and going on thinking that this fellow has given wrong number and going on weeping then there is no meaning. We have to feel, this second is ours and rejoice to live that’s all.

Did you feel troublesome in sitting hours together wearing different varieties of makeup, feeling dissatisfaction at any time?
One boy wants to meet his girl friend for which he has to travel in bus, or have to wait out side the college. After meeting her, what is going to happen is very tense and thrilling? Moreover he forgets his labor in meeting her. Same feeling gets for us also. Finally, if audience praises our performance then what more we need?

Can you say your long pending dream about Maruda Nayagam?
It is the story pertaining to 18th century. It will be than the budget of Dasavatharam. I alone will direct the film and make in English, French and in Tamil. If I satisfy with that then, I will make in Telugu also.


Is there any idea to enter into politics?
I do not understand these politics. When everybody says they enter into politics, I also say same thing. I can say in every Indian there is a politician. However, I do not have so much knowledge to enter into politics.

Chirutha is coming to shake the Tollywood

Charan Teja son of Mega star Chiranjeevi is debutante of the film Chirutha, produced by C Aswinidutt on the banner of Vyjayanthi Movies under the sensational director Puri Jaganath. Neha Sharma is also introduced by this film as female lead playing opposite Charanteja. There were some songs left over which were picturised in abroad and completed the entire shooting of the film.

Producer C Aswinidutt said except some patch work, other related works are completed. At present post production works are also going on speedily. Further, he said including entire people, Cine personnel and Chiranjeevi fans also eager & anxiously waiting for its release. They have kept high estimations on this film keeping in view of son of Chiranjeevi. That too it is the first movie for Charanteja.

The fights and dances of Charanteja will be very attractive. Without any sort of fear he performed excellently like an experienced artiste. Mani Sharma composed marvelous tunes for the film by which huge response is coming from the people for its audio. Shyam K Naidu maintained perfect and excellent photography which will be a special asset for the film. We are planning to release the film on 28th of this month.

After marrying Aiswarya Roy my life has become glorifying (honeymoon) journey says Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachan. Still I feel that I am continuing my honeymoon with her. Daily going to cinema sets and acting jointly, again returning back to home, I feel very good and thrilling.

Shahrukh Khan's Om Shanti Om

After the smash hit Chak De India and now the Badshah of Bollywood will be returning in a couple of weeks time and this time with a home production. NDTV has an exclusive look at Farah and Shahrukh Khan’s Om Shanti Om. Om Shanti Om, Farah Khan’s second film as director after the superhit Main Hoon Na is a tribute to Farah’s favourite decade, The 70’s.
It’s a love story between Shah Rukh Khan, who plays a struggling actor and a former model Deepika Padukone. But it’s not a run of the mill story “It’s a strange love story in the sense that it’s not a conventional love story not boy meets girl and the girl loves the boy without giving away too much. It’s very unusual I would say it’s half a love story and then it goes to another space,” said Farah Khan, Director.

The story centers on an artist, Om (Shahrukh khan), who grows up in the seventies, meets the love of his life (Deepika padukone) and shortly thereafter suffers an untimely demise. He is immediately reincarnated and the story flash-forwards to the present day. Haunted by the memories of his past life and love, he attempts to not only solve the mystery of his death, but also reunite with the love of his past life. The problem is that she is now much older than him and does not believe that he is the reincarnation of the man she once loved and for about 30 stars are doing guest appearences in this film and let us hope the film will be good.

I failed: Ramgopal Varma

Now days, everyone is discussing about Ramgopal Varma’s AAG in the entire Bollywood. Not only discussing about its good and bad, but they are discussing about why he made so worst film. This is the today’s talk in Hindi belt. Further, the people are saying that Ramgopal Varma has to know how to make movies. However, Varma is saying it is a remake of SHOLAY and from the beginning I made this film AAG with a special interest. Further, Big B Amitabh Bachhan also had given a statement that Varma has given a new identity for Sholay and remade the film on the title of AAG.

But after releasing the said film the same Amitabh said there is no fire in AAG, except ash. For this dreadful failure I am only responsible says Ramgopal Varma now. I did not even think this film becomes run-of-the-mill. Recently once again I watched the film Sholay, every scene and sequence is tremendous and thrilling. Most of my well wishers said to me not to try to remake the sholay. But I never heard their words, one sidedly I proceeded. I am only entire responsibility for this failure. Some people are saying that I should learn how to make films. However, such comments are coming from cine critiques which are their personal opinions I feel. But one thing is absolutely true that I could not estimate the people’s views said by Varma.

Revealing his plans the never-say-die director explains, "The film has a tongue twisting title, Dheyaya. It's a Sanskrit word for mission. I wanted an unused word to express what the film sets out to achieve. It'll be a realistic gritty dark film about the link between the underworld and various legitimate and illegitimate terrorist organizations.
